Dynon Avionics just donated over $4,000 worth of prizes for the Open Hangar Days event!

Not only one, but....

  • Two D2 Pocket Panel portable EFIS (worth $1,095 each): Dynon Pocket Panels are true artificial horizon instruments based on the same technology that drives Dynon’s Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS). This hardware is combined with an advanced flight dynamics algorithm to accurately determine aircraft true attitude without drift. A high-quality, highly sensitive GPS receiver is also built into the D2 to provide GPS ground speed, altitude, vertical speed, and ground track for enhanced flight situational awareness. The D2's are not like smartphones or tablet apps, or GPS-derived “simulated instrument panels.” Unlike those consumer devices, the D2 are dedicated avionics instruments. With a real AHRS, and designed and calibrated for in-cockpit use, you can rely on it to give you accurate flight information. It will be on and ready when you need it; it isn’t going to switch away from your altitude indicator to display a calendar reminder!

And...

  • Two $1,000 gift certificates! You can use them on any Dynon products, including the new Dynon HDX displays as shown below:

Garmin Experimental Aviation also donated a Garmin GDL 39 as a prize for the Open Hangar Days!

A Garmin Pilot coupon will be included with the GDL 39 as well so it can be used with an iPad or android tablet, if the winner doesn’t have a compatible portable Garmin product.

•             Receives subscription-free weather

•             Advanced ADS-B "dual-link" traffic with TargetTrend™ and TerminalTraffic™ technology

•             GDL 39 3D adds attitude and SVX™ in Garmin Pilot™ and aera 796/795

•             Wireless Bluetooth® connectivity with iPad® or aera 796/795

•             Built-in WAAS GPS receiver

Hi John, The campers will have access to the airport terminal for showers and bathrooms and we will have food vendors here throughout the day on Friday and Saturday, plus the banquet dinner on Friday evening and the BBQ dinner on Saturday night at the factory. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. We look forward to seeing you soon. ~Rebecca

Hi Tom, We are currently working on the schedule for the forums and will have some more information posted soon. Zenith will also have presentations and the Q&A would be a great option for one of those. Keep checking back for more information. Thank you for your suggestion. ~Rebecca

Rebecca,

For those intending to fly-in and tent camp at the airport, what will be the availability on-site of the "necessaries" such as toilets, showers, water and food?

It's definitely on my calendar!

Hi Rebecca, Any possibility of having model specific Q&A sessions with one of the knowledgeable builders of a particular model  so that builders of a certain model Zenith can pick up on some valuable info in a one-stop learning experience? Hope to see all of you folks there in Sept.  Tom  Sullivan

Great suggestions, Jonathan. Thanks!

Comment by Jonathan Porter on June 28, 2016 at 10:29am

Two suggestions:

Not all owners can bring their aircraft, and some may not be able to attend... so,

1. My Zenith picture; each owner could be invited to submit a photo of their Zenith (or Zenith in build) to share with the event... perhaps a prize or two as well...

2. My Zenith story; pilots are like fishermen, and almost everybody has a build or flying story to share... perhaps limit to max 1000 words, and make available on the website after the event (may include a photo, but not essential, since not all pilots have pictures of 'that moment'...

Just suggestions!
