Saw an great Kitplanes article from November 2010 discussing the safety of Zenith aircraft compared to other kit aircraft. Kitplanes Article Link
The article confirms that Zenith STOL aircraft have the lowest fatality rate. The overall accident rate for the STOL aircraft seems slightly high compared to other kits, but it could probably be easily controlled and reduced with transition training.
Always good to find more encouragement for my Kit Aircraft Choice.
