Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Today is the 6 year anniversary of opening up the rudder box in my living room and drilling the first hole. Even though I only get to work on weekends, and on weekends outside of the summer when it isn't 110+, I had kinda thought I'd be done by now. But if I've learned one thing on this project is to take all estimates and double them: and expect it to take longer than that.
While we are firmly in the 110s, I have managed to sneak some early mornings in this summer in an effort and yesterday I got the second slat wrapped and installed.
Everything is "done" bar the electrical wiring (which I'm doing at home in the ac as much as I can) and the electrical on the engine (oh, and the cowling). So I'm still hopeful I can get wheels up before next summer.
Over the 6 years I've logged 498 hours of build time and spent just under $64k.
Thanks to everyone on here who has helped me and answered my very dumb questions, looking forward to some "first" videos later this year or early next.

Almost there.
Noticed that's a pretty hefty Jack Stand you have there. Overkill Much? :)
