Hi guys and gals, just thought I'd drop a quick post about my 750 Super Duty build. Rudder and tail section nearly complete, I opted for the quick build fuselage from Zenith as I didn't like the idea of attempting that on my own. Let me know if anyone else out there is building the Super Duty, keen to share experiences and support each other through this fun and exciting adventure.

Hi Jono,

Just purchased a SD kit and waiting for it to be shipped so I can start.  Your pictures look great.  How has the progress been in 2020?

I'm building a Super Duty too.  I completed the rudder and Horizontal Stabilizer and working on the elevator.  I also received the rest of the parts for the complete kit and receive them in November 2019.  Would like to connect with other Super Duty builders too.  I am having some struggle with the elevator having a slight twist in cleco pre-assembly and not yet resolved the issue.

I also would like to compare notes on the Horizontal Stabilizer rear bracket attachment. Zenith recently changed the rivet and bolt specifications for this part's attachment.  The drawings I used at the time specified AS5 (stainless) rivets.

Hi Jono, I have been building one of these with my dad for a little over a year now. We have the wings, tail, slats, flapperons and fuselage riveted together. We primed the tail feathers this past weekend. Waiting for a long weekend of dry weather (in Florida) to attempt to paint the fuselage rotisserie style like Jan did with his. That's where we are at now, waiting to get the fuselage painted before we mount the engine and set up the panel (we are going with a traditional panel rather than the unpanel).

Great workmanship so far.

Hi Nick, glad to hear someone else is building one! I did have a few minor issues with the tail, make sure you have the latest drawings and IPL as Zenith changed the design after delivering my kit. I had to order the extra parts from Zenith and rebuild part of the tail. Happy to share more, PM me if you have any questions, and best of luck with the build, it's super fun!

Hi, Jono,

I, too, am building a super duty.  I built my rudder last month and have just started on the tail.  Let me know how it goes.

Nick
