Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Phase 2 of the build began this weekend with the arrival of the next two kits: the Horizontal Tail kit, and the Slats and Flaperons kit. Even though I knew how big the parts were I hadn't really been prepared for the size of the crate; that thing was huge! I can't begin to immagine the wings or fuselage crates.
I pushed the crate into the dog run for storage and it wasn't until a couple of days that we opened it up. Why? First we need to build a new bench that was big enough for the tail kit.
Inside the crate was A LOT of paper packing and an envelope with three pages of inventory part, including a line item of "800 A4 rivets"! Ugh, time to get a compressor for the air gun!!
Hopefully I'll be taking inventory this weekend and sorting out the slats kit parts which is what I aim to work on first.

Interesting, had not thought about using the crate as a bench!
The shipping crate could have been used as a work bench ! No assembly required !
The crate will be long enough for wings or fuselage...but take the parts out of the crate that you need first.
Have fun.
