The 2016 West Coast Zenith Fly In Report
The inaugural year of the West Coast Zenith Fly - In is now in the books, and it was a success.
This event was held in Arlington, WA during the annual (and great) Arlington Fly In.
Despite very threatening weather, we had seven zeniths show.
A 750, a 601, an 801, and four 701s. Two of the planes were from California!
We also had about a dozen active builders join us, which may be the most rewarding part of any fly in. Ideas and tips were exchanged, along with plenty of hangar flying
While we battled rain and low ceilings, the weather relented enough for some flying.
Curt Thompson took home the prize for Workmanship with his plans built CH-701.
As always, our unique planes gathered crowds. Adults, children, aspiring aviators, and pilots alike are always intrigued by the distinctive shapes and reputations of these birds.
A big thank you needs to made to everyone who helped, attended, and joined us.
We hope to see you next year, July 6th, 7th, and 8th.

I was really impressed with how many Zenith aircraft made it to Arlington as the weather was quite poor. I hope to build a 750 someday soon and it was great to see them at the airshow. Everyone was very willing to answer questions and the planes looked great. Thanks to all who made it there. I look forward to next year!
