I think Kitlog Pro is an awsome product. Sure it's not perfect like Jim says but it's only 50 bucks. I use it as my only building record but everytime I add an entry, I backup the database to USB flash drive that is only for that purpose. Backing up is very simple as they have included a button for this purpose in the drop down FILE menu. After you have done that all you have to do is click a button marked UPLOAD TO THE INTERNET and it's all done for you. Download the free trial program if you haven't already. It is a full working version except it wont let you upload to the net.
Kitlog Pro get a 10/10 from me and would recommend it to anyone even those who aren't very computer literate as it is so easy to use. It's childs play.

The only other program that I have seen is Expericraft which is a free program that you can download from Zenith. Try perusing a few builders logs and the first thing that you will notice is that you cannot follow their progress as there no menu to show ALL activity from most recent to the oldest logs like there are with Kitlog Pro.
Hope this helps you decide.

I have two negative comments:
1) It only allows three photos per page. There are often times that I'd like more photos to document some specific thing I've just done.
2) The database is a little flakey. I've had a couple of crashes which lost the data on the computer. Fortunately, I'd printed the pages, so what I lost was convenience. Unfortunately, when you lose it on your computer, the next time you update your online copy at JKitLog's website, it deletes it there also. Moral: backup often.
It's basicly a good product, and I'd recommend it, with the cautions just mentioned.
