Andrew, Good Luck on your CH-801, I enjoyed building mine even more than the flying, many challenges lie ahead especially since you have chosen to go with a diesel engine.
I did something similar as I opted for a new design from Jabiru that is no longer in production, I had engine #5 off the assembly line for their 8 cyl 180 hp . This was a wonderful choice as with the Craig Cato fixed pitch 3 blade prop I developed over 800# of thrust on a plane that weighed in at 1240#! At about half throttle I was dragging the wheels while holding the brake, WOW! Scared the devil out of me on the first flight. I also found I needed to add full right rudder as soon as the nosewheel left the ground dur to the P torque. Just a couple of notes for you to keep in mind if you wind up developing a lot of power. Will be very interested in your progress.
