Building and Flying Info / Your Profession / Other Background Info
I started Sport Pilot a few years ago. It's just starting now. However, I have been purchasing metal over the past 3 years. That is in storage. I addressed my medical issues. First I lost 120 lbs and the V.A. fixed my hands and shoulders with surgery. Now that, that is all done I can really start working on the airplane.
Background: I learned to work with wood starting at age 5 at a Naval wood shop my father ran on Treasure Island in the 1970's.
Work Background: Once out of the service after the Gulf War, I went to vocational school for heating, cooling, and refrigeration technician. I have worked with sheet metal, electrical (unlimited voltage, amperage, or phase), motors, and other mechanical machinery on a professional level.
Additional Work Background: Associate's in Computer Programming, Bachelor's in Information Technology, Graduate Degree in Business. Just another way to say I can handle the math of things.
With my strengths in wood, metal, electrical, programming, and networks I believe that the Zenith CH 701 is the right plane for me.

This is my first time posting my blog of the build (Zenith CH-701.) I spent the better part of the past 2 months going over the plans and working out the exact dimensions of the "curvy parts." This has really been fun working on and starting the build. I needed something to ground me and get started working on the plane. I have never built an airplane, but I know I can do it. My bio may explain some of that confidence…
