Google "Ten Mile Lodge" in Quebec. The main lodge is located on Ten Mile lake with several outpost camps located on Big Lake Dumoine. My version of Northern Quebec is slightly south of your version. You cross into Quebec at Rolphton, Ontario or DEs Joachims, Quebec (SWISHA).

I live in Haley Station, Ontario.... about an hours drive north of the capital city Ottawa.
If you live in a hot enviroment or plan on float operations the Rotax 912ULS will out perform the Jabiru 3300 with its liquid cooling and ability to swing a 72" dia prop at a slower speed (less cavitation). I think the Jabiru people are real close to de-bugging thier engine....just not quite there yet.

The Jabiru is around $4000 cheaper to install, simpler to install (no hoses & radiator), no prop extension...etc. The Jabiru 3300 is a very complete FWF pkg. Install is a 1 - 2 day affair. I was 5 days working my way through the Rotax install. The factory demo CH750 has a 10 bar oil cooler that should be in the FWF pkg instead of the 7 bar oil cooler supplied...difference in cost is $5 ! The FWF pkg from Zenair Midland leaves some things in need of improvement / upgrade. I have flown LXT for a around 2 hrs, Transport Canada has taken 5 weeks to "not" ..register my CH750 so far. The Rotax 912S engine climbed out at 800 fpm full gross with outside air at 36 degree C temperature. If I lived in Florida it would be the Rotax 912S for cooling issues and 2000 hr TBO. The Rotax 912 has 80% of the LSA aircraft market for a good reason.

Hi Richard my wife and I attended the Zephyrhills fly-in with the Flight Crafters guys and attended the gathering at their hangar. Sorry we did not get a chance to visit. Next time I'm home I'll let you know and we can take a look at the projects and compare notes. We have a 701 builder in Dunnellon, Joe Aloof building a plans built and doing a really good job with it and is a member of this site. Since I'm working in Kuwait I'm having Flight Crafters build my kit to the QB stage like they did my 701 (they really do good work). Stay in touch via the net and let me know how the project is coming along and send pictures. It's good to hear from the real world when you are in Kuwait so stay in touch. Mike

Hi Rich,

I am using a zinc chromate primer. I apply it with a small "acid brush" (the kind with metal tubes for a handle and the brush is about 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" long). I get a bag of 36 for $5 at Harbor Freight. I did not want to spray it and intned to only prime the metal to metal contact areas.I bought a gallon from Rexcel Coatings out of Albuquerque, NM as my son goes to college there and I did not have to worry about shipping hazmat material. Hope this helps.

Richard, glad to hear from you. I haven't worked on my plane for awhile. I'm 66 and work full time for a steel company in Jax. My wife just had a hip replaced and I'm taking care of her plus working. I have finished the rudder and am making the parts for the tail feathers. It's possible I might get laid off in the future in witch case I may have more time to work on the 750. I've bought a lot of aluminum ahead of time just in case. Yes I might come down sometime in the future. We have friends that live at Flying Tiger fly in community in Worthington Sprs, FL. and they have a fly-in breakfast the first Sat. of every month that we attend on a regular basis. Have you ever been? I don't have a pilots license but up to this point I've only built and flew ultralights. My intentions are to get a Sports Pilot license if I get the 750 done. Right now I'm waiting for it to warm up so I can get outside and work. I'm putting a new metal roof on the house. It is 26 outside rite now. Global warming my but. Unless they have made changes since my kit last year, only the skins are pre-drilled. But no worry, every 601/650 has been built just fine that way!
