I've had the engine 3 years and finally got to start her up. We had an oil pressure issue which meant we didn't get to do a full test but there is life in th...

Thanks, Chris. I think I finally worked out what I've been doing wrong with the gugrle - I've been doing it with the spark plugs out so (obviously?) there will be no compression to force the oil (and air) through. I will try it again this weekend.

For the brief seconds the engine ran, it sure was a neat feeling.

I would say don't start it if you can't gurgle it, you might have air in the lines. It's all in the Rotax manual how to do it. Don't ever turn your propellor backwards either as that can create air in the lines as well. Your oil filler cap on the oil tank was off to hear the gurgle? I gurgle mine before Evey start unless it's just a little while since you've ran the motor and then I usually gurgle it then just to be on the safe side. Glad to see you making good progress. You will love that Rotax in the 750, it will handle like a dream.

Two weeks ago we tested the oil pressure by putting a battery on the starter and observed the pressure, but today there was no oil pressure. After purging the line again, pressure was restored. Be interested if anyone can say why this happened? (Rotax 912ULS)

I also haven't been able to gurgle the oil cooler - possibly related?

Anyway, 6.5 years into the project, sure was good to hear the Rotax start up.
