Upgraded Zodiac 601XL N554SG arriving at Ohsosh 2010. Wet field conditions resulted in there being few aircraft when I arrived.

Gene,
My instrument panel top skin is held in place using machine screws with nut plates and not rivets as shown in the plans. I placed the screws in the same locations rivets would have been. This makes it totally removeable, and I recommend this to everyone. I bought an aluminum extrusion L from a home store approx. 3/4" x 3/4", or possibly 1" x 1". The length is enough that it spans the middle three screws. I remember seeing a Zenith demonstrator plane that used a handle here like what you would see on a screen door. I did not want a handle, but more of a stabilizing point you could reach for when getting in or out of the airplane.
You can see the forward side of the L in this picture:

I saw a photo of a grab bar that was installed above the instrument panel on N554SG. Can you provide me with some details on the installation? Where and how is the bar mounted? Any photos of it that you have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gene
