A cold day with high pressure and a sustained 16 knot wind straight down the runway.

This is exactly what I need. Pulling the original flap lever to the 2nd position requires a LOT of wrist force :)

With my plane the difference between the 1st and 2nd flap position is like a night and day and I like to use them both.

The 1st position gives much more lift but not that much drag. You can tell this by the way the plane takes off from water on floats. Take off performance is drastically improved with flaps #1. With no flaps the take off roll is much much longer, you can tell the difference right away when the plane just keeps picking up speed but won't lift off even with pulling the yoke until the speed is around 50..55mph.

The 2nd position further increases the lift but also adds a lot of drag and reduces the aileron authority quite a bit. The plane also becomes sensitive to cross winds.

In addition to a lever easier to use, I've missed a position in between to provide a good compromise between the two positions that I have now.

I have the Kube Kontrol handle, which gives me 4 notches. For this landing I used 3 notches.

Do you have two flap positions e.g. 15/30 degrees?

The wind was going upto 30KTs right before I was able to get out, so yeah there was almost a negative ground speed portion.

I'm waiting for the negative ground speed approach where you back it in! Cool split screen view.
