Flying EAA's staff-built STOL CH 750 with custom wheel penetration skis. I visited EAA headquarters (in Oshkosh, Wisconsin) last week to fly the ski-equipped aircraft on snow with EAA staffer Kyle Voltz after a fresh snowfall. It was a good experience even though the conditions were far from ideal (high gusts and snow drifts).
This Zenith kit aircraft was completed in 2014 by EAA staff and is powered by a 100-hp Continental O-200 engine with a WhirlWind propeller, and equipped with homebuilt wheel penetration skis for winter operations.
I plan to share a longer video of the winter flight at EAA headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Great looking skis. The wheel penetration is probably a 40% drag penalty vs straight skis in deep snow.
