Zenith Aircraft demo pilot Roger Dubbert flies the Zenith CH 750 Super Cruzer prototype aircraft - demonstrating a takeoff and landing.
The Zenith CH 750 Super Cruzer is a new all-metal cross-country cruiser from Zenith Aircraft Company. The new design is a versatile sport utility kit airplane that features roomy side-by-side seating in a 2 + 1 (rear jump seat) configuration.

Building on the proven load-carrying capability of the STOL CH 750 Super Duty and the higher cruise speeds of the Zenith CH 750 Cruzer, two popular designs from aeronautical engineer Chris Heintz, the new Super Cruzer combines the most popular attributes of each of those designs: it delivers increased cruise speed and cross-country performance while retaining the generous useful load, spacious cabin, short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance, as well as the industry-leading ease of construction that Zenith Aircraft is known for. Like all current Zenith Kits kits, the Super Cruzer utilizes final-hole-size, match-drilled parts and assemblies for quick, accurate, and straightforward kit assembly.
Just like the popular two-seat Zenith CH 750 Cruzer (the “on-airport” version of the STOL CH 750 originally developed for the Light Sport category), the new CH 750 Super Cruzer features a completely redesigned wing leading edge and updated tail surfaces that prioritize efficient cruise performance over maximum STOL capability. While the fixed leading-edge wing slats found on the STOL CH 750 models are gone on the Super Cruzer, the new design still offers surprisingly short-field performance with significantly higher cruise speeds.
The CH 750 Super Cruzer has also been structurally re-engineered for higher gross weights and increased operating speeds. The aircraft has a VNE of 150 mph, and initial flight testing has demonstrated cruise speeds exceeding 120 mph using a stock Lycoming O-360 (180 hp) engine with a standard Sensenich fixed-pitch propeller, without wheel pants or other drag-reducing fairings. Despite its higher-speed mission, takeoff and landing distances remain remarkably short, consistently measuring less than 500 feet.
“I am very pleased with the Super Cruzer design. It’s not a clean-sheet design: it builds on the smaller yet very capable CH 750 Cruzer while incorporating the same impressive load-carrying capability of the larger CH 750 Super Duty,” said Zenith Aircraft president Sebastien Heintz, who is also an active pilot and was involved in the design and flight testing of the Super Cruzer: “I’ve been very impressed with the prototype we’ve been flying over the past several months. It feels and flies like a mature, well-developed aircraft rather than a prototype with the usual squawks and development issues. This design fills an important niche in today’s marketplace, those seeking increased load carrying .”
Roger Dubbert, Zenith Aircraft’s demo and test pilot, and the 2024 recipient of the Spirit of Flight Award presented by the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, added: “The aircraft flies very much like our (Light Sport) CH 750 Cruzer. The controls are exceptionally well balanced, and the airplane feels more like a conventional general aviation aircraft than a typical utility airplane. Pilots looking for a very capable cross-country aircraft that’s equally at home on a private grass strip or a paved airport will really appreciate all that the Super Cruzer offers.”
