Flying with Carson: Zenith's Aircraft's Sebastien Heintz goes flying with Carson Stilson in his highly capable Zenith STOL CH 750 Super Duty backcountry flyer. They share insights of the many rewards of building and flying your own aircraft, Carson’s latest kit build, and his plan to give it away, all while enjoying the incredible views while flying over southwest Arizona.

Not one to shy away from new challenges, he's now embarked on a journey to build a low-cost STOL CH 701 in as few as six months, and as affordably as possible, and then to give it away to one of his lucky followers!
About the CH 701: "It's the little brother to my airplane... the plane is incredible. It's easy and super fun to fly and it has extremely low operating costs, like $25 - $30 an hour. And the real kicker is that Zenith recently updated this kit to a CNC match hole drilled kit. This airplane can takeoff and land in less than 100 feet, making it completely possible to do backcountry flying."

Zenith Aircraft Company hosted a hands-on kit airplane building workshop class in Yuma, Arizona in February 2026, followed by an informal gathering of Zenith builders and flyers. Carson Stilson flew in to the event in his CH750 Super Duty that he built, and took Sebastien flying over scenic Southwest Arizona.
