Recurring issue with VDO fuel sender. Fuel leak on hanger floor. Found white positive connectors were lose causing fuel leak. A little wiggle and they came apart.

1. Check your fuel senders through access hole in your next inspection. If any sign of deterioration or shimmy, or leak, then disconnect power to sender, and drain tank before service.

2. Replace senders with new of same kind of better quality or something different.

3. Possible replacement is the Stewart Warner left and right fuel senders and level gauges. See other photos.

One of mine literally crumbled apart when I unclipped wire...felt like the Dutch kid sticking his finger in a leak.

Is it possible 10% ethanol in auto gas degrades the putty-like clay surrounding the sender connector?
