Hi guys,
No problem, I'll let you know how this turns out.
I have already set my mind on how I want to do this.

First, I want to do this without taking the wing/top cabin (4130) out of the plane.
Doing this would require taking the wings off and I want to fly ASAP.

Second, I want to get rid of the top sunroof and replace it with two smaller (rectangular) acrylic openings.
I realized last summer that by having a sunroof it made the cockpit area way too HOT for comfort.
I still want to get vertical (over the plane) view but don't require full sunroof !

Third, I want the Beanie to follow the same contour as the two smaller ribs next to the fuselage sides.
This will make the transition much nicer and make it easier for the aluminum sheeting to follow the wing to
fuselage top contour.

Forth, depending on the feasability, I could be inclined to take out the fuselage sides that sit over
the top of both doors; my 701 doors open like car doors, and replace these parts by a thicker grade
aluminum. This way, I could install gullwing doors (new style open UP) at a later date.

Fifth, the Beanie mod shouldn't interfere with the wing removal process. I want to be able to take the wings
off the 701 without having to remove rivets or permanent attachments. KISS priciple !

So, next time I get to the 701, I'll start by going for a flight (always!) and take measurements.
I'll take pictures of the work as it unfolds.

I am also keen to do this mod as well so will watch this space for tips and info. Am thinking as I am scratch building it wil be easier to do, would like it to be like the 750 but not sure if you have to do any xtensions to cabin tubing frame for this, maybe I will study the 750 plans to get some ideas
