Hi Richard, I am not a pilot. I have close to 30 years experience as an avionics tech and mechanic in US Coast Guard and GA aircraft. I have spent several weeks in Alaska, including Anchorage, as a C-130 navigator. My plan is to buy/build an aircraft and get my license in it. I can arrange to fly it home with an instructor pilot. I have some questions:

  1. Is the Jabiru 3300 GEN  4?
  2. Is it a new engine (minus the 40 hour fly off)?
  3. Did you install the Hackman on the Bing Carb?
  4. Did you make any mods/deviations from the factory build manual?
  5. What prop is installed?
  6. What are you seeing in performance (speed and fuel burn at 6k to 8k ft)?
  7. Does the aircraft have an FAA airworthiness certificate?
  8. Can you send me a list of all installed avionics?
  9. Can you send me pictures (more than the ones listed in the add)?
  10. Does the sale come with a fresh annual condition inspection?

My email is kevinrenfro7@gmail.com. My phone number is (805) 709-4923.

Thanks,

Kevin

Would you have a time of the year that would work for you, and how about a location.
Thanks for you response. If you could ask others you may know it would be a grate help in starting a annual gathering.
Thanks

Hello Richard,

Whats going on in the state of Ak?  I sure enjoyed my flight up there this summer.  I had intended to stay longer but the weather did not cooperate.

Richard, Zenith is now making floats again for all of their models and they can be purchased as a kit. I hope this is of some value to you in your search for floats, I believe either the 2200 or the 2500 series will work on the 801 without any problem and you have the choice of making either the straight floats or the amphibious ones. I didn't put floats onmy 801 mainly because then it would have to stay outside as I couldn't get it in the hangar.  Good hunting.
