Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Hello to everyone,
I wonder if anybody can help me with an oleo problem on my 1987 CH-200 ? When it was made the main Oleo's used were "Locke" oleo's .these were made by guy named Phil Locke ,and were for use on the Zenith aswell as a few other planes such as the 'Jodel". I' am trying to replace the seals on them as they are leaking fluid and in trying to remove the cylinder from the piston have found it impossible to get out .although only about 3/4i nchof the Stainless steel is still inthe cylinder. LAME's have looked at it and can;t seem to figure out how to seperate the 2 hydraulic parts so as to fit a new seal. My question is does anyone else have this type or know how to remove the cylinder . or even if the Locke brothers are still around somewhere? Appreciate any advice.

HI Colin,
Some cylinder are welded and need to be put on a late to remode the weld. Close photos will help to figure how to remove the moving piston.

Christian , Hello and thanks for your reply.I take it you mean remove the weld on the outer cylinder a the top
end?
Would it help if I send you a 'close' photo ? We did take a couple.I'll try and get them from my LAME.
Cheers ,Colin
