Hello! I am currently building a 701 with the 260iS and was wondering if there are any others out there that could give me an insight into its performance. Particularly in comparison to the Rotax 912 ULS. Cruise is less of a concern to me compared to the Rate of Climb, Takeoff, and landing roll. I have kept her pretty light with the ilevel 3aw avionics package instead of steam gauges as well. Thanks!

I don't have the S model, but the 260i takes off in a couple hundred feet (I've never really measured, it lifts off at the top of the numbers). Climb on a warm day is 750 fpm by myself. On cold days it climbs at 1000 to 1100 fpm.
It has run well for me, until I bounced the nose and had a prop strike a couple of weeks ago. I didn't realize it until after I flew home and put the plane away. Now the engine is out for overhaul. I am replacing the rubber bungee with the Viking steel bungee. Might put a spacer on the nose wheel to raise it up another half inch or more.
