Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
I am not yet far enough along to get any W+B estimates for my Gen 4 3300 Cruzer.
When Zenith increased the H-Stab skin thickness and went to the full length elevator hinge years ago, I remember thinking "That's a lot of weight at full aft Moment Arm".
I THINK the current FWF package was laid out prior to these tail feather mods (?). It seems like the engine sits relatively far forward - lots of room between it and firewall.
I initially had planned to use an EarthX battery to save ~10lbs of weight, but scrapped the idea because 10 additional pounds of Odyssey Lead Weight on the firewall is a good thing.
I also read recently that painting an aircraft shifts the CG rearward as there is lots of surface area aft of CG on long moment arms. I am beginning to envision my Cruzer with polished empennage and only a few color accents ...
For Cruzer/Jab 3300 builders, have there been any W+B issues for you?
Thank you
Tim
