I received my 750 Cruzer kit last week and will inventory the hardware today, start building fuselage by the weekend.  Problem is a 10 year waitlist for hangar space at all local airports in the Newnan, GA area.

I have the room to put a small airstrip in my back pasture.  It will easily accomodate the STOL specs for takeoff and landing, but will not be sufficient for safely handling the 750 Cruzer.  So, I hope to be able to convert the wings and tail sections during the construction process.  I will keep the 750 Cruzer components in my shop for future use when I do get usage of a larger airstrip/airport.

Is this easily possible?  What would I need to get besides wings, tail, wheels?

Thanks,

John,

I am interested in any details that you might provide regarding delivery and off-loading of your kit.

I am particularly interested in the ease/difficulty of offloading at a residence.

Sebastian and his son delivered it to me on their way to Lakeland FL. Brought all parts directly from the Zenith Sprinter van into my shop. I didn’t have to touch anything. It wasn’t in a big crate so I didn’t have to break anything open.

I fly a Big Tire Cruzer with STOL mods that both will cruise at altitude as fast as the factory Cruzer, and take off and land in similar space to 750/701 STOL. You can check out my BLOG about what I did, and maybe that might be something of an alternative. more than half my landings are off paved airports. Short Island strips, gravel bars, moutain strips. With VG's everywhere, big tires, big brakes, VIP Prop and Viking 130HP I can go anywhere a STOL goes, and get there faster.
