Corrosion blockers
I have used Boeshield (R) for some time, and was thinking of spraying it throughout the interior of my (already constructed) 750 to prevent any corrosion that might occur even though I consider the airplane's materials to be relatively corrosion resistant. Since one is supposed to be able to spray Boeshield on electronic components, my reasoning is that the spray/fog should even settle into some pretty tight spaces.
I was unable to find Boeshield in my local marine supply store in bulk (aerosol cans only), I bought what the parts guy suggested, a quart of some material called "Corrosion Block," which he says is used for the same purpose.
I dunno. Maybe doing this is inadvisable for some reason. What do y'all believe? Will these materials do the job? Is one better than the other? Are they necessary at all? Does anyone have any technical knowledge in this area? Will they do any harm?

If any of the areas are exposed and subject to wear, I have successfully used Protectaclear. It's a brushable, self-leveling clear coat finish. I like it on certain wear areas of the interior as it doesn't scratch like paint (or at least the scratches don't show!) and it keeps the metal shiny.
It also works great on the gear legs - I just Scotchbrited mine for a brushed appearance and then applied the Protectaclear. It seals the relatively porous surface and I've found that bugs, mud, etc wipe off much more easily and if the finish is ever damaged, you can just dissolve the area with a little xylol solvent and re-apply the Protectaclear. A little goes a long way.

Well, I wouldn't be able to brush the stuff on the inside of the wings and tail, not to mention much of the fuselage, but as my cabin interior, landing gear, and struts are already painted, I wonder if a coat of Protectaclear over the paint would be advisable. I'm thinking of leaving the raw aluminum unpainted (Roger said ok to that), so wonder about the leading edges where bugs tend to accumulate. What product(s) do you suggest to clean the bugs off the raw aluminum and the "Protectacleared" areas?
