Ready to apply corrosion protection to some pieces...Cortec data sheet states "dilute 10-20%" for brush application.
My survey question - am I thinking correctly - mix a ratio of two parts water to 8 parts Cortec?
Cheers!

I "think" Caleb told me I could dilute it to whatever consistency necessary that it spread nicely - I'd say that ratio sounds about right. I bought some of those small plastic lab sample jars (the ones they give you to leave a sample in the bathroom for your medical!) on Ebay and would mix small batches, cap and store, and then when used up toss the jar and start a new one.
I found that in the summer, it dried quick enough for me just using water (I had a jug of distilled water - maybe overkill?). Caleb also told me it is perfectly OK to rivet together parts before the Cortec dried ... just be sure you're not going to reposition or be taking them apart again because if riveted wet, it'll glue the parts together! I actually kind of liked putting things together that way since if you got the Cortec a little thick, you'd get a squeeze-out that would really seal up the mating surfaces nicely.
Thanks all...will have a chance to brush it on tomorrow. Also have some Zinc Oxide primer I will use on the "non-flayed" surfaces within the stab
Cheers!
