Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
I hit upon an extremely easy and extremely dangerous way to debur the inside of the 3/8" holes that are drilled in the 750's strut fittings!
I was drilling the fittings today and noted a lot of steel burrs on the inside of the U-shape flange on the end of the strut fittings. Looking at it, I thought "How the heck am I going to debur those?" (The two holes in the flange are less than a quarter-inch apart!)
At first, I tried running a file through the inside of the flange, and that does work ... eventually. Then, inspiration hit me - I punched the button on my chop saw (which has an abrasive cut-off disc in it) and fed the slot in the flange into the spinning wheel. It knocked out those burrs in about two seconds!
I then used a file to assure they insides of the flange were silky-smooth and also ran a "chip-chaser"/deburring tool around the edge a time or two.
Works great - just don't amputate your hand with that chop saw!
