Hey All,

I have an O-200 in the worst configuration for making power. Stock Cessna exhaust (soon for sale) out of an C-150, old cylinders with reduced timing as to not blow them apart and slick mags. I'm hoping to up the power output with some efficiency gains. I'm starting with my exhaust.

The plan for my exhaust is a 4 into 1 header made of 304 stainless. So far the specs for my system are 1-5/8" OD with a 38" length for maximum torque.

Has anyone built an exhaust for their aircraft?

Thanks.....

Todd

Thanks Don! I’ve got good mentors, my work is far from professional but will get the job done!

Starting on the pilots side. I cut tubing tonight and found I’m one u bend short. So a quick call to SPD and one is on the way. I also filled my large Argon tank today. I was down to just 100 psi, not gonna cut it for welding these up. It will take two 80cf tanks and one 60cf tank for back gassing to get this all done. That’s the guess anyways.

Looks awesome Todd! Can't wait to hear how they preform.

Well I really got sidetracked with other projects on the airplane and whatnot. I’ve recently had quite a bit of time to work on my airplane and almost uninterrupted!  So I got busy on the finish welding and EGT bung installation. Currently I’m working on the heat boxes. But here are a couple pictures for updates.

wont that heat up your oil sump?

There is over an inch of clearance between the two. If it becomes an issue I can add a heat guard pretty easily.  Although here in NH it’s probably a good thing if I can heat the oil.....

I have oil temp monitoring/ alarm capability as well.
