FAA 2017 SLSA Continued Operational Safety (COS) Report
In January, the FAA issued a Continued Operational Safety (COS) Report for Special Category Light-Sport Aircraft covering the time period beginning with the July, 2004, establishment of the Sport Pilot/Light-Sport Aircraft rule through September, 2017. It's an interesting read, especially since there have been no fatal accidents due to in-flight airframe failures in CH601XL SLSAs manufactured by Czech Aircraft Works and Aircraft Manufacturing & Design since the 2010 airframe structural modifications were incorporated into the design.
