Phil.....what airplane model is the cowl for and curious why it says RV6?...........Joe.

Joe,

I have an old-style 801 flap motor that was stuffed into a partial kit 601xl that I bought.  Know anbody that needs/wants one?

Roger Lundin jovis52@juno.com

Joe, this was the cowl that jabiru USA originally supplied when I purchased the engine, they told me it was an RV-6 cowl. It did not fit my 180 HP 8 Cyl Jabiru 5100 engine and I had to make my own. I paid for it so I would like to sell it although at a discount from the original value. I still have it in the box it came in.

Phillip....thanks for the reply. Looking for an CH-801 cowling.....Joe.

Joe, I don't know what engine you are planning on using, the reason this one wouldn't fit for me was I had to move the engine 6" forward to make room for the carbys and also it is an 8 cylinder so it is somewhat larger than the 4 or 6 cyl models that most folks are using. This is what I get for trying to be original.  Ha!
Phil.........I had to do that on a prior project, a real pain. Planning on using a Lycoming IO-360 preferably the angle valve 200hp.
Joe, would you like me to take some measurements of this cowl for you?
Sure......you might as well. I've built an RV-6, an RV-7, an RV-9A and an RV-10 and you would think I would know the measurements. Just don't know if it will adapt to the CH-801 boot cowl. I have not even contacted Zenith to see what one from them would cost. Send the measurements...if we can make it work and save money all the better.....Joe.
Joe,  Sorry I have taken so long to get the measurements, took some hpotos today with measurements, if you will send me a regular e-mail to powens@tds.net I will return the results.
Ok,  I sent a friends msg so we can communicate via e-mail also.
Would this fit ch701 Jabiru 2200 engine ???
I cannot say for sure but since it was originally designed for the RV the probability is good, most of the RVs' have either four or at best six cylinder engines.  since mine is an eight (8) cylinder it was way too short. The 2200 is a four cylinder so most likely it would be long enough, you may have to make some minor mods to match the outline of the firewall as the 701 is different than the RV. I will try to get you some measurements as so you can better judge for yourself.
