Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Finally, I can report that my Jabiru 3300 is running within the parameters set by Jabiru and my plane is finally past the 40 hour Phase 1 test period. I want to thank everyone, John Austin, Jimmy Young, Bob MacDonald, Dave Prizio, Roger and Caleb, and Pete at Jabiru for the help and patience to get me here! If I forgot anyone, I'll remember a bit later.
I'm planning to post a long discussion today or tomorrow on how we got it done.

Rats! ... we're not getting-in to AirVenture until Wed. p.m.! I don't have any cooling problems, either, but it would be interesting to hear the presentation - who's presenting it?

Tom,
Glad to hear of your progress. I can tell you that test flights are much better in the early morning and late evening. The 750 is a great airplane, but it is light and the thermals bounce it pretty good on a bad day. Mine flies hands off when it is cool or in the times I mentioned.
My only issues on first flight was a pretty severe right wing drop and the engine quitting! I could still control the plane with the wing drop, but a trim tab fixed that easily. The engine problem turned out to be the idle arm on the carb is too flimsy and if you got to pulling too hard on the throttle (like when you want to get it slowed down) it would actually bend the arm and stop the engine. That was easily fixed by adding a stop collar to the throttle cable. I've had no problems since.
Also, a 750 flies a bit different than a typical airplane, because it is a STOL machine. Get some instruction in one for sure. Also, keep your speed up on final until you get used to it. My airline captain buddy says you have to fly it like a 727!
