Picked up my CH750 tail kit off the dock in Tulsa today, so I am brand new to everything and pretty excited about everything. Ex-Marine Corps pilot who hadn't flown in 20 years when the bug bit me. Either it was a bug or I had a big "senior moment".  :)

Having a problem getting onto the "Model" and "Discussion" forums. When I click on either one I get a picture of a yellow airplane with a link. When I click on the link I get a big message that this site is not secure or a 404 page that says I've lost my way. Talked to Joyce & Kaitlyn at the factory and they get the same message, but they said zenith.aero is a separate entity that they do not manage. This has been going on a while now. I can get into the "Open Discussion" and "Engine" forums.

I am registered on the Zenith.aero website. I don't know if I was registered incorrectly or if the security certificate for the web site has a glitch, or what?

Hoping someone can help me get this lined out.

Thanks much!

Hi Fred,

Although I'm the Forums Moderator, (which means I can monitor, edit, delete discussions, etc.) I'm not the webmaster (One of our members, Efe Cem Elci is a volunteer webmaster) and have nothing to do with the registering and joining specific forums, etc, but here's some suggestions.  First and foremost, always look in the upper right of the home page and be sure you see your name and that you are logged-in. As I understand it, the "Model" listing is a sort of consolidation of information about different models and compiles a list of discussions relevant to the model. If you want to post or read discussions about a specific Zenith model, rather than use the "Model" tab, choose the specific model of interest under the "Forums" tab.  The "Open" forum and "Engine" forums are open to all members, but you must request to join (as many as you want) the specific model forums to be able to participate or read postings.  I think you'll have an option to join a forum when you try to visit it ... it's always approved, but as Moderator I'm automatically "joined" to all the Forums so don't know the exact process.  Hopefully one of our more recent members can explain the exact process for "joining" a forum.

BTW, I've found that occasionally if I get an unexpected result trying to navigate to a web page, pausing or turning off your VPN, if you have one, sometimes clears the problem.

Update: Fred verified for me that when you navigate to a new forum you're not a member of,  there will be a link in the top right of the page that says "Join (model or name of Forum). Selecting this will "join" you to that forum and you'll be able to post and respond to posts.  You can "join" as many forums as you wish.

I couldn't test this personally as I was already "joined" to all the forums since I'm a moderator.  Thanks to Fred for his assistance!

Yeah, I caught that afterward. But since he'd already rectified his problem, I saw no reason to embarrass myself by demonstrating what an idiot I was to have missed it in the first place. I never, EVER, want to do that. ;-)

Those forums require group membership. You don't get automatically asked to join a forum when you try to access it, but you should automatically get approved to join those for your aircraft model. I don't recall ever asking to join my model forums. It just happened. So I'm guessing you're a new site member, and your group status just hasn't been loaded yet. But I'd send a message to Efi just in case. And be aware that Efi often doesn't respond right away, so give it at least a few days, if not more.

Thanks to both of you for the guidance. I knew I was "joined & signed in" to Zenith.aero. Went to CH 750 under Forums and, in the top right hand side there was a link to "ADD" the forum. Clicked on it and was added to the forum. Didn't see that link before. Now I'm "joined".

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Hello Fred. Yep to me this website is having some problems for me getting exactly where I want to go.  I am slow, so hopefully John can help us out.   Ken here, just outside Tulsa at KGCM Claremore airport with a Zenith 801 that was built in Ohio.  I purchased it after built.  Yep, the bigger brother, Suburban of your 750 kit, but If at any time you would like to take a look at how mine was constructed, you are welcome to give me a call or take a look.  I have been inactive for a while (here and flying) just now trying to get back to the 801 related stuff for my maintenance and upgrades.  Having a hard time getting back there to lots of info posted and posts I had made in the past, but might just be my computer skills.  N801S@kczoom.com

Ken if you click your avatar logo, or your name at the top right of the screen, your profile will come up. On the left side, under your picture and a few other items, is a list of your Blog Posts, Discussions, Events, etc. You only have 18 discussion posts in your profile. If you click that, you'll see you made all 18 comments in just two discussion topics. Unfortunately, it doesn't show all the other stuff you may have just looked at, but never posted in.

Tks.  I should wait and use my computer keyboard instead of trying to use my dinky cell phone keyboard with very little internet at the airport which does not bring up any site well.  Bad signal, and bad to try to communicate. Thanks for the help.  Ken
