Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Guys -
My engine came with a bare tail-pipe which I have fitted through the cowl and am now trying to figure out how to attach springs too. Did your engines come with the spring retainers attached to the pipe or no?
I'm not seeing any spare retainers to weld on either.
When you have a moment please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks!
Wayne

Wayne,
Since this is the Open Forum and not a specific engine forum, it might be helpful to mention which engine you have in case there is a specific fix for your problem!

Sorry about that John - thought I was in the UL Power forum !
You could always place a worm gear clamp on each side of the joint and use that to attach springs. Alternatively, you could buy some stainless steel at a Lowes/HD and weld it yourself (you kinda hinted at that saying there were no tabs included) or have a muffler shop do it for you.
Regardless of your approach, I'd put some safety wire on there in addition to the springs; I've had 3 of 4 springs go missing, so I started running safety wire thru the springs to ensure nothing fell on those below.
Excellent advice Carl, thanks very much. The safety wire tip is huge!

Thanks for your response. I need to look harder then, if not I'll ask Robert if he has some. I wondered if I was missing them.
Great forum as always!
