That is why after every cut you should file down to remove the fracture area, all in all It still proves to be a good way to cut a large sheet. Thanks for the microscope view. If you have time can you share a view of a cut done by the $6.00 special package of 3 aviation snips that everyone uses. That should prove to be a real eye opener for stress risers.
Maybe comparing the cheapie snips and some Wiss snips would be interesting too?

Thanks for the pics. I'm usually only looking at SEM pics of DRAM at work! Nice to see them for something that's more recreational...

I have looked at an edge from some snips once - it was very rough. Made me want to hit every part with the vixen file once more just to be sure. I'll see if I still have any pictures around from the snip-cut edge - otherwise I'll take some new pictures when I get a chance.
