Initially the ball was a little off-center on my 750 and I found it took a slight, constant right pedal pressure to correct. Since the nosegear is interconnected to the rudder and sits in the bearing notch in cruise, it tends to hold the rudder position neutral. I used that to my advantage by tensioning the right rudder cable a turn or two and loosening the left rudder cable a similar amount. Thus, the overall tension was unchanged (low 20's as I recall), but the centering-action of the nosegear then tended to hold a very slight amount of right rudder bias and the ball was centered.
