As moderator, I've got limited editing, deleting, etc. ability, but nothing to do with the actually construction, lay-out, or maintenance of the forum or its software. Sebastien seems to be the primary contact at Zenith - best I can do is email him.

I just did a couple of searches, though, and it seemed to work OK ... it's not the greatest search engine, anyway. I notice that a lack of a space between characters, etc., can alter the results!

Update - 

Ning (the forum hosting company) emailed me that they are working on the search engine problem and will let me know when it is fixed.

Update:

I think it is ridiculous that this problem has persisted two weeks! Just thought I'd let everyone know I have emailed Ning yet again asking for a solution and also asked Sebastien if he would try to bring some pressure to bear, too - after all, he's paying the bill!
