I have a tip that will greatly improve the fit and function of your control cable (and rudder cable) shackles. Hope this helps.

That's a neat tip, Mark!  I also like to put small nylon washers under non-structural screw heads that will relatively frequently be removed such as instrument panel sub-panel fasteners, etc.  It prevents chipping or scarring of the finish on the panel around the screw head..

Excellent idea! I'm going to order more for the spinner screws, access hatch screws, etc...

These are also available from Aircraft Spruce and McMaster Carr.  I use the smaller sizes often to protect the area under a screw.  I will order some for the control cables when I get to that point.  THANKS
