I finally ordered the 650B Airframe Kit; Led Nav / Strobe / Position Light Kit; Landing Light Kit; Long Range Fuel Tanks; Aileron Trim Tab Kit; and the Wing Baggage Locker Kit. I will make the trek to Mexico, MO on July 23rd to pick everything up! I sure hope it fits in the luggage area of my 1975 Corvette or I…

Here’s some more information on the training. I plan on charging $100 per hour dual (that’s wet) and $20 per hour for ground training. The ground rate will applied to pre-flight and post-flight briefing time. I’m trying to keep my rate about the same as dual for a C-150 but it’s not easy. It’s hard to believe that fuel alone is running about $30 per hour…oh well, we just have to get used to that. However, because I expect some training to come from a distance, I’ll put trainees up at my house for no cost. I have a unique separate bedroom and bath for a guest that really works well.
I hope the pick-up of the 750 went well. My wife and I also drove to Zenith to pick-up our 650. The folks at Zenith were terrific about helping us get everything loaded.
Building can be rewarding at times and sometimes aggravating. Do your research and be creative and you'll get there. I just started flying mine a week ago. I got my training this spring and my log book doesn't yet have 40 hours logged. Five of those hours are in my bird. Flying the 650 gives me a lot of confidence. It's the easiest aircraft I have flown so far.
