Tom, I have not done that yet. The wings are done, but I decided not to install the tanks right now. I will put about 5 gallons in each, and turn them on their side for 12 hours or so.

I really hated cutting a hole in the side of the tank, but being a first time builder, I have not deviated at all from the factory drawings. Did you put a boost pump in yours? If you ever make it to GA2 (Peach State) I would love to swap rides in my J-3 and your 750.  Matt

Tom, I'm not sure if I can fit either the fuselage or wing in my garage so that is my first driver. I'd like to do the fuselage because it's less money up front (I want the nav lights with the wings) and at the end it will look like I have a plane rather than another air foil.

I think I have the opposite problem to you, our summer temps are in the 100s and my garage is not air conditioned, not sure I will be able to do any building in the summer time.

As for painting, right now I am leaning towards a polished airframe but want to check out vinyl decals, I read somewhere they are a good looking and light alternative to paint.

Cheers

Paul

Hi Tom,

Your build looks to be going great, I wanted to ask you whether you considered doing the fuselage instead of the wings next? I seem to be doing things in the same order as you (but still on the slats) and can't decide which will be next: wings or fuselage.

Thanks, Tom! I'm Dave's wife, and I'm a broker associate with ERA Carolina Mountain Homes in Murphy, NC. Dave completed our Zenith in 2005 and flies off a grass strip near our home. He's headed for Sun'n'Fun in a few days and will be camping with our EAA chapter near the flight line. I'm a licensed pilot also, but will be staying home this trip. With spring break, I'm actually getting some calls and showings again. Give me your contact info at suzihenry@brmemc.net, and we'll do some business together!
