Scott, You can not see rivets in that picture. All three sides of the aileron's ribs are riveted to the skins plus a rivet line extending the entire length of the ailerons attaching one skin to the other adjacent to the hinge skin (hing-less design). Remember also that I,m working from CH601 HD plans not HDS plans. To verify you may want to contact Zenith Info. at
I'm building the 601 hds, and i'm nearing the end of the aileron construction, in the manual, it does not say to rivet the bottom flange except the sides. By looking at this picture, you did not rivet the bottom, and my dad thinks that we should rivet the bottom flang to the botttom of the ribs. nI have already riveted the top flage to the ribs, along with the shortest side.
If you could guide me on what to do, that would be great.
