I thought I had replied to Andre, but messed up somewhere. Anyway, thank you and you are correct about moisture! The shop is dry and insulated. In addition the area is climate controlled, so hopefully not many moisture issues. I am going to use multi layers also, learned from my RV build that at some point may want to replace a top layer or even add another layer. I think two will do, they are actually 7/16 vs 3/8, it was there so gabbed the slightly larger thickness.

My old bench when I build the RV elevators actually got holes drilled for the clecos to set in when doing the bottom skin.  Always looked at those holes and even though that is the ways the plans tell you to do it, thought how much I had learned by the end of the build... However, not always good to over think things...

Thanks again,

T

Hey Dan, your leveling system is pretty cool, I think I had actually ran across your post earlier and was thinking it was an awesome idea! I was concerned with lengthwise level especially being an over 12 foot bench. I chose the straightest lumber from the selection and checked square at each point. Surprisingly it came out almost perfectly square and all legs vertical level. The pour of the garage floor has the natural slope out, but it only ended up being a bout a 1/16 bubble low. I was a little surprised it was only that and figured once positioned I will shim and most likely won't move the bench until the end of most airframe build is completed.

We shall see, however your system is in my library now and I do thank you.

Looks to me like Terry is using 3/8" OSB on 24" centers. The bench looks good.

Hello Terry.

Nice table but be careful because  the partical boards tend to keep humidity and can swell easily.

MDF is what I use and it's pretty smooth and dense. Just a tought.

Happy building...

Andre

Looks nice. I am working on building my workbench too here is my plan to keep it level on my garage floor.
