Boot assembled on fire wall. Used "Super Lube" as lubricant between the collar and the brass sleve. Makes for a smooth movement between the boot and the nose steering rod. Brass sleeve is "Gooped" on the steering rod to keep in position

It looks much prettier than mine, but how do rubber boots stand up to fire? - It is the firewall that is being sealed after all.  I made some boots from heavy, treated leather welding gloves, not so nice to look at but should keep any fire out for a bit longer.
