This skin has been a nightmare. When I got the skin tight on the left tip rib, I would get massive wrinkles in the rear skin. Caleb at Zenith said that its a fine line, and not to try and get it perfect. I took his advise and slit the difference, alittle separation on the nose and alittle bit of wrinkle in the aft top skin. If any of you have advise on how to get the skin perfect, I would like to hear it.

Champ, that's a great idea. I must try that some time.
Bob your " French Connection " :o)

Steven, don't worry about a few wrinkles.

Nobody is going to see them when you fly over their heads at a few thousand feet. Next time start at the center, and work out.

It may be much easier if you would rivet the (flat) top-side first, before sweating a little with the curve underside.

Hi Kevin. I have had a rough time with this skin. I too ending up somehow with it to short as well. I don't have 15 mm over hang, more like 9 mm. I have thought about making an extension piece as well, but not sure if I need too. I tightened the tip rib to tight also and bend the rear of the tip rib, boy I was not a happy camper! I also ended up having the nose ribs show through alittle on the skin inwhich I really hated but I believe this to be kind of common. Well, Im glad its not just me having ISSUES with this aIirplane build. Thanks for the reply and comment!

That job was not my favorite one so far. I tried to get rid of all the gaps and wrinkles. Ended up denting my skin by over tightening the straps. Next skin went better but I somehow cut it too short, well with-in edge distance specs but no 15mm overhang ether. Ended up riveting on an extension for the overhang/gap cover. Yours look good, don't sweat it.
