You are in great company with a black plane - Air New Zealand has been painting a number of its planes black - ref http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZkhGQ_K4Ak for a new 777 ex Boeing factory and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2EsBbghG5I for an airbus..... of course our national rugby team are the All Blacks and the design was brought in ahead of last year's Rugby World Cup. The Silver Fern on the rear / tail area represents a native silver fern which is on the clothing worn by most of our national sports teams / people. While looking very different, most people gave it the thumbs up!
