Hi Adam, Yeah that was a few days ago (5 years). But I do still remember meeting someone there that knew someone at that airport that had a CH-701. They were telling me how the builder wasn't all that happy with the rudder in flight. He told me that the owner stated that while in flight when the rudder was pushed, the rudder would continue to move in the direction it was pushed even though no force was being applied. We found with the one in the photo the rudders were very hard to move. So we did a lot of work to discover the problem. There were many issues we found. However the two biggest ones were 1. rubbing on the aluminum and hole size as the cable exited the fuselage. 2. This one was the biggest problem. The cables were to tight. They felt loose on the ground. But as the weight came off the nose wheel and it extended an inch down, it would pull the rudder cables a bit too tight. A simple way to check this is next time you fly your 701, take your feet off the rudder peddles and pull up on the rudder cable by the door. It should not be super tight.
