This is the final stage with the case split and the Crankshaft and Camshaft removed. It looks a bit messy but "A Pile for Everything and Everything in it's Pile" is my philosophy. In the background is my pile of parts to be discarded and bags of parts to be cleaned and reused. Total time from taking the engine out of my car to final cleanup was 10 hours. I of course had guidance all along the way from the experts and plenty of assistance when the difficult parts were reached. Getting the nuts off the rod bolts involved several of us working togather and getting the nuts loose from the case bolts ( a bit rusty) involved about 4 people just to hold the case still. That is why I hoghly reccomend a Corvair Collage for Teardown and Buildup. You have all the expertese you could want on hand and plenty of generous folks when you need that extra hand. The case, crank and a few other parts went home with Roy of Roy's Garage and he will be doing the machine work for the 5th bearing and 3000cc conversion.
