Here I have the parts "jigged" together in preparation of drilling and clecoing the assembly. The rear of the ski still needs to be cut off ... formed...and trimmed to the final length. start at the front and work towards the rear.

Pat your looking at a old piece of weathered 2" X 10" Spruce I was using as a jig to drill out the "L" to the extruded alum. rail. Front ski on CH701 is 3ft total length with the axle set back 2 inches from the centre of the ski toward the rear.
