Okay, sounds like a side grinder w/ a wheel for aluminum - didn't know they had them, but makes sense.  I'll take a look for one.

Not on the dremel...I mean, I tried and it can be done, but it's quite fragile...broke a couple of them.

I mean the big 115 mm wheel...almost 5" for you ;-)

You have to buy the cutting wheel for aluminum. Works perfectly.

Thanks for the suggestion - I think you're talking about a cut-off wheel on something like a Dremel tool? I've used side grinders at work - they tell us not to use them for aluminum because the soft material will gum up the wheel, but I can't imagine that would be an issue with a small Dremel tool.  That's part of the fun - an excuse to buy new tools.

Hopefully not too fast - I'm going to have the kids do most of the rivets, and they're still on Spring Break vacation in Florida.
