Thanks guys - the way we do it:
I sit and look at the plans, the picture builder's guide, and the homebuilt help DVD for a couple of evenings. I make the kids watch the video once. I lay things out, make my measurements. Then I check it out and worry for an evening. My son helps with drilling and clecoing. I do most of the deburring, while watching TV. The kids do most of the riveting. It really helps that they like the riveting - it gives me incentive to get to that part of the project.
Fast doesn't always mean perfect - I had to get replacement front mounting pieces for the stabilizer - I made a goof trying to divide by 2 in my head. Alas, my son can do that stuff but I am not as quick at it as I used to be.
It's turning out to be a fun family project. When it's time for the wings I'll be moving to the garage.
Having a good air compressor really speeds things up as well.
Way to go Rebecca.
My little boy also likes to help me in the shop. It's great to get the whole family involved. Good show.
