Nice airfield at Ashburton, south of Christchurch. Very freindly locals and no landing fees and plenty of strips to select from.

Marvelous RWY ! keep posting photo of your beautiful land! thx
Nice to hear that you are in the air Jock. The landing gear in 701 is very tough. Did you put any VG's on the elevators ??They make the landings very smooth after you drop on the field like a chopper. Looking forward to seeing your aircraft in Motueka one day.
Shafid,
Brings back memories - I solo'd on that airfield in a Canterbury Aero Club Cherokee "BZB" in 1970!
Looks like you have had a great trip south. I am still struggling to get fine weather on the days I am available to complete my test flying. Have five hours now and all going well - even the landing gear has passed the extreme test when doing circuits last week in 25knot gusting winds - swore the main wheels were level with my eyeballs on one landing, but it felt very soft - the approach was like a helicopter in autogyration!
These are great grass airfields!
Now, that's what I call "A Nice 'Field"!
