Zenith 750 Cruzer, An error when drilled the bottom spar
January 5, 2024I made an error when drilling the bottom spar. While drilling the skin moved a bit. Because of this all holes in the spar look ugly.I suspect it happend bacause I tried to use cleco #40. Instead I probably had to drill #40 and immadiately #30. I was not able to set cleco #40 firmly. November 1, 2023Zenith sent me a new spar root angle. Matching it to the root top skin and the root nose rib was a difficult task.I spent several days trying to match them. Applying Cortec question
Hello.How to apply Cortec correctly?I read the Forum and the Cortec user's manual. I dilute Cortec with distilled water 4:1. I clean the surface with acetone, rough a bit with scotchbrite and clean with acetone again. I apply the diluted Cortec with a foam brush. The coverage is not ideal but reasonable I believe. Sometimes I have very few bubbles.But now Cortec dries and I have a problem. Cortec "shrinks" around holes and away from edges leaving something which looks like uncovered surface.…See More

I made an error when drilling the bottom spar. While drilling the skin moved a bit. Because of this all holes in the spar look ugly.
I suspect it happend bacause I tried to use cleco #40. Instead I probably had to drill #40 and immadiately #30. I was not able to set cleco #40 firmly. Cleco #30 was set hard without any problem.

Removed the incorrect spar root angle. Started drilling and deburring the ribs.
